The Northern District is organized through the Virginia State 4-H Horse Program and governed by the Northern District 4-H Horse Council which meets every other month. See the District Council page to find out more information about the Council and meeting dates.

Our next Northern District 4-H Horse Council Meeting scheduled:  
VIRTUAL MEETING via ZOOM-- DATE: August 5, 2020,  7-7:30pm. Link to ZOOM sent via email.  Agenda includes review of Secretary and Treasurer report followed by an open discussion pertaining to the council members thoughts about cancelling the 2020 State 4H Show.

This meeting is open to all adult 4-h horse project volunteers and 4H member representatives.

Northern District Calendar of Events: Oct 2019 - Sep 2020 Dates
(Knowledge contests and Horse show qualifying events will be listed once they are approved by the council.) 

Due to the COVID-19 Effective March 12, 2020, ALL 4-H Qualifying Shows, Clinics, and Horsemanship Skills are suspended until further notice, to be in compliance with the policy put forth by Virginia Tech and Virginia Cooperative Extension.

Updated 3/27/2020: Dr. Jones, VCE Director, his statement that we are following is such: 
In alignment with Governor Northam’s directive that all K-12 schools be closed for the remainder of the academic year, all in-person 4-H programming will remain suspended until further notice. We will continue to monitor the situation, discuss late spring and summer programming, and provide timely updates regarding the suspension.
